Armenian catholicos involved in priest's death, money embezzlement Media writes

Catholicos of all Armenians Karekin II embezzled $600,000 and was involved in the death of Reverend Malakia Amiryan, Armenian "Hraparak" publication writes.

According to the information, the publication received an e-mail signed by "Father Koryun" on August 28, who is known to the Armenian public through the "New Armenia: New Patriarch" movement.

The document raises the issue of a bequest of $600,000, which, according to the author of the letter, the now deceased Reverend Malakia Amiryan received from an Argentinean Armenian woman and paid the sum to Garegin in order to receive the dignity of bishop. However, Malakia died of coronavirus and the entire sum was embezzled by Catholicos Garegin II, Caliber.Az reports.

It should be noted that the author of the letter makes serious accusations about the death of Reverend Malakia Amiryan and writes that he was "liquidated" by the Catholicos in the "Izmirlian" hospital owned by the church.

The letter states that "another young nun Mambre Tashchian also died of coronavirus. However, apart from spreading the news of her death, the Etchmiadzin church and the Catholicos did not publicise this information in any way. Almost all structures of Etchmiadzin, on the instructions of Garegin, starting with the TV company, made films, organised events and various days of commemoration of Reverend Malakia. Considering that the fact of death should be presented as sad as possible and show that the Catholicos is in deep pain in order to hide the $600,000 and the fact of murder".

"As for the will of the Argentinean Armenian woman, the financial department of Etchmiadzin informed us that the accounting department and Reverend Anania Tsaturyan are currently trying to do everything to settle the documents for receiving the $600,000," the author of the letter states.

"By the way, Reverend Anania Tsatouryan admitted to her loved ones that she received the spiritual degree as a gift in return for keeping the $600,000 secret. And Rev. Aren Shahinian, the current vicar of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina, unable to 'shut the mouths of Argentine Armenians', was excluded from the list of episcopal ordinations this year, as everyone in the Armenian Diocese of Argentina is already talking about the disappearance of $600,000 and the mysterious death of the priest," the publication writes."
