Armenian FM highlights South Caucasus’ role in connecting Europe, Central Asia
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has stated that the South Caucasus will play an important role in linking Europe and Central Asia.
He made the remarks to journalists in Luxembourg ahead of a ministerial meeting organised by the European Union, Caliber.Az, citing Armenian media.
“Today, I join colleagues from the European Union, the wider Black Sea region, and Central Asia to discuss ways to enhance resilience, security, and connectivity,” Mirzoyan said.
He emphasised the importance of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and of discussing the opening of communications and transport infrastructure as a bridge between Europe and Central Asia.
“The fact that peace has now been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that both countries are discussing the opening of communications and transport infrastructure, adds significant potential, as our region can play an important role in connecting Europe and Central Asia,” the minister said.
