Armenian PM fails to write condolence message at Russian embassy
The Armenian Zhokhovurd newspaper has written that Armenia is unable to show solidarity with Russia even in case of mourning.
“Even in case of mourning, Armenia is unable to show solidarity with a friendly country. Thus, the Armenian officials did not go to the Russian embassy and did not express condolences due to the innocent Russian victims,” Caliber.Az reports citing the newspaper.
“Among the officials, only Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and member of the Armenian ruling party Aleksey Sandikov, who is Russian, went to the Russian embassy on March 25 and wrote a condolence message in connection with the terrorist attack in Moscow on March 22.
Where were the other members of the ruling party? Were they busy? Did Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan forbid them to go to the Russian embassy that day? It is also noteworthy that the members of the “Civil Contract” party of the interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation also showed indifference.
A number of Armenian public figures, politicians, oppositionists, citizens and members of the National Assembly wrote condolence messages.
A condolence book was opened at the Russian embassy in Armenia on March 25 on the occasion of the national day of mourning declared in Russia in connection with the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, the message says.
