Armenian PM, Iranian president kick off bilateral talks in Yerevan

Iranian President Masoud Peshkeskian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan kicked off high-level talks in Yerevan on August 19.

The meeting began with a formal welcoming ceremony at the Armenian presidential palace, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

During the ceremony, the national anthems of both countries were played, and the two leaders introduced members of their respective high-ranking delegations.

Following the ceremony, the leaders kicked off bilateral discussions, which are expected to  focus on enhancing Iran-Armenia relations, regional security issues, and developments in the South Caucasus and the Middle East.

President Peshkeskian arrived in Yerevan on August 18 for his first official visit to Armenia.
