Military helicopter crash in Iran kills four at fruit market updated / video
Four people were killed after a helicopter crashed into a local wholesale market selling fruits and vegetables.
According to Reuters, the victims included both pilots as well as two market workers who were on the ground at the time of the accident.
A fire broke out at the crash site but was quickly extinguished by emergency services. Iranian media confirmed that there were no survivors on board and that everyone at the site of the crash was killed.
Preliminary reports suggest that a technical malfunction may have caused the disaster. The helicopter was carrying out a training flight. The incident reportedly occurred in a province that hosts key Iranian infrastructure facilities, including a major air base and nuclear installations

A military training helicopter belonging to Iran’s army aviation crashed on Tuesday, February 24, in the town of Darche in central Iran, according to preliminary reports from local media.
State broadcaster IRIB reported that emergency services were immediately dispatched to the crash site. Three ambulances from the national emergency service and a medical bus arrived shortly after the incident, while rescue and medical personnel began assessing conditions and providing assistance.
The helicopter involved in the accident was identified as a training aircraft operated by the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation.
Darche is located in the central part of Khomeyni Shahr County in Isfahan Province, near Isfahan’s 13th municipal district and approximately eight kilometres from the city centre.
Authorities have not yet released further details about casualties or the cause of the crash as assessments continue.
