ASTRA: Ukrainian forces attack aviation plant in Russia’s Taganrog PHOTO

27 May 2026 10:12

Early in the morning on May 27, residents of the Russian city of Taganrog have reported that the Ukrainian Air Force carried out an attack on an aviation base, explosions and smoke observed, according to ASTRA, citing OSINT analysis of footage published by eyewitnesses.

Several cars caught fire, and there are reported casualties.

It said smoke was rising from the territory of the 325th Aviation Repair Plant located in Taganrog.

The footage, it is claimed, was filmed approximately 2.8 km from the facility.

The 325th Aviation Repair Plant (JSC “325 ARZ”) specializes in the repair of aircraft.

The nearby 352nd aviation plant is also located in the area. Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the facility is under sanctions from all EU countries, the United States, and Ukraine. It is currently unknown whether the plants themselves were damaged.

ASTRA notes that the facility had previously come under attack by Ukrainian forces in December 2024.

The mayor of Taganrog said, in a statement, that two people were injured during the repelling of the air attack.

“Today in the morning, during the repelling of an air attack on the Rostov region in Taganrog, a missile was destroyed. Unfortunately, there were consequences. There are casualties — two people were taken to hospital, they are receiving the necessary medical care. Cars caught fire. The fire has been localized. Emergency services are working at the scene. The consequences on the ground are being clarified. A commission will soon begin assessing the damage,” the statement noted.
