Azerbaijan, CIS review parliamentary elections Amid high praise from observers
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with CIS First Deputy Secretary General Leonid Anfimov, who is in Azerbaijan to observe the snap parliamentary elections.
The discussion focused on the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the CIS, with a particular emphasis on the parliamentary elections, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
Bayramov highlighted the measures Azerbaijan has implemented to ensure the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and transparently, and noted the active participation of international observers.
Leonid Anfimov praised the organization of the elections, affirming that they were conducted in line with Azerbaijani law and international standards. He described this as the 12th consecutive parliamentary election the CIS has observed in Azerbaijan.
Anfimov commended the CIS observation mission, which includes 133 members, for its comprehensive oversight and successful reporting on the elections, including in the recently liberated territories.
