Azerbaijan continues its success achieved in 44-day war - former envoy
Former Turkish ambassador and board member of the Ankara Commission for Karabakh Crimes, Hulusi Kilic has said that Azerbaijan is diplomatically continuing its success achieved in the 2020 Karabakh war.
Speaking about the meetings between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron at the European Political Community summit in Prague, Kilic noted that a statement was adopted following the meeting of the above-mentioned top officials.
“According to the statement, Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, once again demonstrating their commitment to the United Nations Charter and the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991. This means that Armenia renounces its claims to Azerbaijani Karabakh,” the commission member said, according to Exbulletin.
“Turkiye will continue to support Azerbaijan. We hope that soon a peace treaty will be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia for even greater development and prosperity of the region,” Kilic added.
