Azerbaijan expands ties with World Bank

A meeting with World Bank’s Human Development Director for Europe and Central Asia Region Fadia Saadah, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, has been held at the Azerbaijani Health Ministry.

“While welcoming the guests, Azerbaijani Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the World Bank,” the ministry told Caliber.Az.

“Improvement of the healthcare system, especially its digitalisation and development of human capital, is a priority issue for our country. Therefore, cooperation with the World Bank in various spheres is of particular importance in terms of applying international best practices,” he added.

In conclusion, Musayev noted that regular meetings of the representatives of the Health Ministry with the World Bank’s missions give a powerful impetus to strengthening cooperation.

While expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and high hospitality, Saadah noted the fruitful cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan, and also expressed support for the reforms being carried out in the Azerbaijani healthcare system.

She said that the purpose of the visit to Azerbaijan is to discuss the potential support of the World Bank to the Azerbaijani government for the development of human capital and the implementation of the "Socio-economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026".

The current state and further prospects for the development of cooperation, as well as new opportunities for the implementation of joint projects, were discussed during the meetings.
