Azerbaijan, Israel launch initiative to share expertise in modern animal husbandry photo
Azerbaijan and Israel have agreed to arrange reciprocal visits aimed at studying Israel’s advanced agricultural practices, with a particular focus on livestock production.
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture told Caliber.Az that this preliminary understanding was reached during the visit of Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov, who toured several of Israel’s leading livestock enterprises.
Both sides also agreed to build effective cooperation between research institutions that specialise in livestock science.
Discussions during the visit covered a wide range of topics, including breeding strategies and ways to increase the productivity of meat and dairy production, the introduction of automated systems at processing facilities, the improvement of animal breeds, and other key issues.
The ministry’s statement noted that leveraging Israel’s scientific and research expertise in livestock, along with applying innovative approaches in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, could raise productivity, strengthen breeding activities, and make production processes more efficient. The statement also underlined that such cooperation is significant for developing future joint projects, expanding the exchange of knowledge and experience, and supporting sustainable growth in the livestock sector.
The ministry added that the minister’s visit is ongoing.
