Baku and Kyiv discuss expanding Middle Corridor opportunities
Ukraine and Azerbaijan have discussed expanding opportunities along the Middle Corridor as part of efforts to strengthen transport and logistics connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev said.
He made the remarks following a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, Caliber.Az reports.
“We discussed promising areas of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani cooperation in transport, digital transformation and the development of modern infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to expanding the opportunities of the Middle Corridor,” Husyev said in a social media post.
The ambassador noted that digitalisation and transport infrastructure are now not only matters of economic development but also issues of resilience, security and new strategic opportunities for the two countries.
Husyev thanked Minister Rashad Nabiyev and Azerbaijan for their solidarity, assistance and support for Ukraine, as well as for cooperation aimed at deepening the strategic partnership.
“There is a lot of joint work and new opportunities ahead,” the diplomat stressed.
