Azerbaijan, Italy relations enter new stage of military cooperation PHOTO/VIDEO

Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received a delegation headed by Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on 12 January.

According to Caliber.Az, referring to the Ministry of Defense, Hasanov shared details on the progress made in the military and political situation in the region after the Patriotic War with the delegation.

In the course of the meeting, the sides put emphasis on the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the field of military education, as well as within NATO, which continues at a rapid pace, and these relations are highly valued.

Colonel General Hasanov noted that this visit marked the beginning of a new stage of development of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.

Italian Minister Crosetto expressed his gratitude for the hospitality shown to them and noted on the importance of expanding bilateral military cooperation.

The importance of mutual visits in the development of bilateral relations of a strategic partnership nature was emphasized.

Further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the defence, military-industrial fields, military education, as well as other areas of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.

Following the meeting, the defence ministers signed a protocol on the intentions of cooperation in the educational field.
