Azerbaijan launches round-the-clock water supply in Shusha PHOTO
JSC "Azersu" has started supplying water to the city of Shusha from an alternative source.
Azersu press service's head Anar Jabrayilli told Caliber.Az that a drainage dam with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters was built near the village of Dashalty in the Shusha district in the bed of the Zarysly River, on which a modern pumping station with high-pressure pumps and pipes was installed.
Water from the spring is pumped upwards to the existing reservoirs in the town of Shusha, from where it is fed into the town's water supply network.
The pumping station has four units with a capacity of 105 cubic metres per hour each. At present, two units are operating in accordance with the needs of the city. All residential and non-residential facilities in the city are continuously supplied with drinking water 24 hours a day.
The alternative source is designed to continuously supply the city with potable water during the winter and summer months when there is a decline in water levels in Kichik Kirs and Zarysly, which are the main sources of potable water in the city of Shusha.
