Presumed human bones found in Azerbaijan's Aghdara
25 August 2025 12:00
Fragments of bones, believed to be human, have been discovered in the Aghdara district, Azerbaijan.
According to Caliber.Az, the remains were located in a forested area near the town.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the bones and any potential circumstances surrounding the discovery.
No further details have been released at this time.
The discovery in Aghdara adds to a series of similar findings in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, particularly in the Karabakh region, following the Second Karabakh War in 2020. These discoveries are often linked to the First Karabakh War (1988–1994), during which nearly 4,000 Azerbaijanis went missing.
