Shusha media forum highlights AI's growing impact on news, public trust PHOTO
A panel discussion on artificial intelligence, visual presentations, and next-generation experiences was held as part of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, bringing together experts to examine AI's expanding influence on media, communication, and public discourse.
Tech blogger Farid Pardashunas said artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming a primary source of news for users, reducing reliance on traditional social media platforms, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
"People no longer want to rely even on social media to keep up with the news agenda. Statistics show that around 10 percent of users already read news through artificial intelligence," he said.
Pardashunas added that, regardless of how advanced AI becomes, professions that depend on human creativity are unlikely to disappear completely.
Fellow tech blogger Tariyel Aghazada described artificial intelligence as one of the most significant technological breakthroughs of the modern era, while warning about the growing sophistication of AI-generated misinformation.
"This is already a serious risk. To prevent it, it is important to improve digital literacy. For example, by using the logo of a bank, it is easy to deceive people. The number of such cases is gradually increasing,"Aghazada said.
Political analyst Gela Vasadze noted that attempts to manipulate public opinion predate artificial intelligence and are not limited to AI-driven technologies.
"Information can be obtained from various sources. The key is to question the source of that information. Artificial intelligence greatly facilitates our work, but we must also take into account the risks and consequences it may create," Vasadze said.
The panel concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to further discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence.
