Azerbaijan may seek restitution from Armenia

Armenia may face compensation proceedings from Azerbaijan, an official from the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has said.

"The compensation proceedings may be initiated against Armenia within the international law after the results of assessments are received," Report informs, quoting the head of the ministry's National Geological Exploration Service, Ali Aliyev.

He said that the mineral deposits on the liberated Azerbaijani territories were previously actively exploited by foreign companies.

"These companies belong to India, the US, Canada, Russia and other countries. The damage is being assessed," Aliyev added.
