Azerbaijan, Moldova explore new opportunities for collaboration in energy, agriculture, trade
On April 10, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister, Ali Asadov, held a meeting with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea, who is currently visiting the country.
The Cabinet of Ministers expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The significance of upcoming 6th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova, scheduled to take place in Baku, was highlighted as a key milestone in expanding mutually beneficial ties between the two nations.
Discussions also covered the prospects for enhancing bilateral collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, oil and gas, transport, agriculture, humanitarian affairs, green energy, and many other areas.
The meeting was also attended by Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture and Co-chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Majnun Mammadov.
Earlier, on April 9, Majnun Mammadov, during the meeting with Vladimir Bolea, discussed food security and climate change. Mammadov emphasised Azerbaijan’s dedication to expanding strategic partnerships, particularly in climate resilience, concerning the COP29 conference held in Baku.
The talks also explored cooperation in agriculture, transport, energy, tourism, and education. The upcoming sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Moldova Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled for April 11 in Baku, was also on the agenda, along with potential expansions in direct flights, joint ventures, and scientific exchanges.
