Azerbaijan, Organisation of Turkic States discuss co-op in fight against emergency situations

Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov has met with Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

Omuraliev arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the Second Meeting of Ministers for Emergency Management of the member and observer countries of the Organisation of Turkic States, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

Heydarov expressed confidence at a meeting held at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations that Omuraliev’s visit to Azerbaijan and the meetings held during this visit will help intensify cooperation in the fight against emergency situations within the organisation.

Noting that special attention is paid to the constant improvement of mechanisms for preventing and eliminating the consequences of emergency situations in Azerbaijan, the minister said that in this context, it is relevant to expand cooperation within the Organisation of Turkic States. The creation of the Civil Defence Mechanism of the Organisation of Turkic States will allow organising the fight against emergency situations in member and observer countries of the organisation at a more reliable level.
