The Azerbaijani team has grabbed two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
Azerbaijani judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) have won gold medals at the Olympics. Taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) and boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) won silver medals, while Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili grabbed bronze.
Moreover, the medal standings are as follows: Ukraine, with 3 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze medals, is in 21st place; Iran, with 3 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze, is in 22nd place; Georgia, with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze, is in 24th place; Türkiye, with 3 silver and 5 bronze, is in 64th place; and Armenia, with 3 silver and 1 bronze, is in 66th place.
The top three in the medal standings are China (39 gold, 27 silver, 24 bronze), the US (38 gold, 42 silver, 42 bronze), and Australia (18 gold, 18 silver, 14 bronze).
