Azerbaijan reveals volume of natural gas produced in largest Shah Deniz field
Since the first day of production, the Shah Deniz gas condensate field, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, has produced about 189 billion cubic meters of gas.
Report informs that the remarks came on April 26 from Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President for External Relations and Communications of BP in the Caspian region, at the international scientific conference "Architect of Independent Azerbaijan", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
According to Aslanbayli, since the signing of the Contract of the Century, a total of 4.2 billion barrels of oil have been produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields.
“Under this contract, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan has received funds in the amount of 167 billion US dollars," he said.
Aslanbeyli noted that the income from the sale of profitable oil is of great importance for the development of the country's economy, as well as social and other spheres.
“Today there are 8 platforms in the Caspian Sea. The construction of the 9th platform will be completed in June. 8 platforms and the Sangachal terminal are equipped with the most modern technological equipment in the global oil and gas industry,” he noted.
