Azerbaijan rises in global rankings for Internet speed
In February, Azerbaijan ranked 57th among 137 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed. The average download speed was 37.42 Mbps.
Azerbaijan has advanced by 7 points compared to the indicator for January, Report informs, citing the Speedtest Global Index.
In the list of mobile operators, the UAE took first place (179.61 MB/s), and Cuba took the last 137th place (4.04 MB/s).
Last month, Azerbaijan dropped one notch in terms of mobile Internet speed, taking 117th place. The average speed of fixed broadband Internet in the country was 27.57 MB/s.
The rating for fixed broadband Internet speed includes 179 countries. Singapore took first place (237.15 MB/s), and Cuba took last place (1.88 MB/s).
In addition, in January, Baku dropped one notch in terms of mobile Internet speed (39.42 MB/s), taking 74th place among 171 cities. In terms of fixed broadband Internet speed, the capital of Azerbaijan advanced one step and took 135th place (29.07 MB/s).
Among the cities, Dubai (UAE) took first place in terms of mobile Internet speed, where the download speed was 229.57 MB/s, and the last place was the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul (3.88 MB/s).
The rating of cities on fixed broadband Internet included 194 cities. The Chinese capital Beijing topped the list (260.08 MB/s) and the Syrian city of Aleppo was the last in the ranking (1.57 MB/s).
