Azerbaijan, Russia ink digital transport deal to introduce e-CMR system

Azerbaijan and Russia have signed a roadmap on e-CMR (electronic consignment note) on the margins of the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission held in Zangilan.

The document was signed by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The agreement provides for the creation of conditions for the introduction of the electronic international consignment note (e-CMR) in both Azerbaijan and Russia. It is aimed at expanding digitalization in road transport, improving the efficiency and transparency of freight transportation, and further strengthening transport and logistics ties between the two countries.
