Azerbaijan–Bulgaria trade surges 50% in first four months of 2026
Bilateral trade between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria reached $344.9 million in January–April 2026, marking a 50% increase compared with the same period last year, according to data released by Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The growth elevated Bulgaria to ninth place among Azerbaijan’s largest trading partners, accounting for 1.98% of the country’s total foreign trade turnover. During the corresponding period in 2025, Bulgaria was not among Azerbaijan’s top 10 trading partners, Caliber.Az reports.
Azerbaijani exports to Bulgaria totaled $335.6 million in the first four months of 2026, also rising by 50% year-on-year. Exports to Bulgaria represented 2.83% of Azerbaijan’s total exports, up from 2.52% during the same period in 2025.
Imports from Bulgaria increased by 4.3% compared with a year earlier, reaching $9.3 million. Bulgarian goods accounted for 0.17% of Azerbaijan’s total imports, compared with 0.11% in the corresponding period of 2025.
