Turkic states consider joint competition investigations, official says
Competition authorities within the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) may begin conducting joint investigations and coordinated analytical work in the future.
Speaking to reporters in Shusha, Birol Kule, Chairman of the Turkish Competition Authority, said that cooperation among national regulators should move beyond theoretical discussions toward practical implementation, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Numerous theoretical studies have been conducted on the benefits of competition. Now we must leave theoretical discussions behind and focus on practical implementation,” Kule said.
He added that this would include joint work between competition authorities, shared projects, and coordinated solutions to common regulatory challenges.
Kule also suggested that competition agencies across OTS member states could eventually carry out joint investigations and sectoral studies as part of deeper economic integration efforts.
“In the context of globalisation, many countries face the same challenges,” he said. “Therefore, cooperation among the competition authorities of the OTS member states can yield significant results at both the regional and international levels.”
