Azerbaijan’s Baku may become first city of labour glory in CIS
CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev has said that Azerbaijan’s capital Baku may become the first city of labour glory in the CIS.
He noted that Baku, Tashkent, and other capitals are among the first candidates for this honour, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the establishment of the "City of Labour Glory" title during the summit of CIS heads of state.
He emphasised that this title would symbolize recognition and respect for the collective achievements of the nations that contributed to the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"The 80th anniversary of the victory will be marked next year. This will serve as a symbol of recognition and respect for the collective heroism of our peoples and all those who worked on the front to help destroy the enemy," he added.
