Azerbaijan's defence minister visits Türkiye for trilateral talks
The Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has arrived in Türkiye to take part in the 12th trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani, Georgian, and Turkish defence ministers.
During his visit to the fraternal nation, Colonel General Hasanov is expected to hold both bilateral and trilateral discussions with his Turkish and Georgian counterparts in Ankara, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry’s website.
Earlier, Georgian Defence Ministry officials confirmed that this week’s tripartite meeting between Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan will centre on strengthening strategic partnerships and outlining future cooperation initiatives among the three nations.
The ministry announced that next year’s session of defence ministers is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan.
During the visit, Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani is set to hold bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler, and Azerbaijan’s Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, aimed at deepening defence relations.
The trilateral discussions are expected to conclude with the signing of a joint declaration, accompanied by statements summarising the outcomes and key agreements reached during the meeting.
