Azerbaijan's junior judokas face final day in European Championship Gold, Bronze medals already in bag
Azerbaijan's junior national judo team will be competing in the quarterfinals at the European U-20 Judo Championship that is currently taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The U20 team will enter the match on September 7, facing the winner of the Switzerland vs. Greece match, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
The Azerbaijani youngsters are the defending champion in the category of the mixed team competition at the European Championship.
On the final day of the individual events at the championship in Bratislava, four more Azerbaijani judokas will enter competition: Aslan Kotsoyev (90 kg), Davud Namazly (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmedov (+100 kg), and Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg).
So far, Azerbaijan's athletes have won three medals (2 gold, 1 bronze): Nihad Mamishov (60 kg) and Mahammad Musayev (66 kg) became champions, while Nizami Imranov (66 kg) earned third place.
The European Championships are held from September 4 to 7.
