Azerbaijan’s lubricant exports see mixed results amid global market shifts
Azerbaijan exported 30,252 tons of lubricants worth $40.6 million last year, representing a 34% decline in value and a 41% drop in volume compared to 2024, the State Statistical Committee stated.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing local media, key export destinations saw mixed trends:
Iraq received 3,869 tons valued at $5.9 million, down 28% in volume and 23% in value year-on-year.
Ukraine imported 4,209 tons worth $5.1 million, marking declines of 62% in volume and 57% in value.
Bulgaria imported 3,946 tons valued at $4.1 million, down 55% in both volume and value.
Türkiye received 2,285 tons worth $2.5 million, a decrease of 24% in volume and 26% in value.
However, exports to Estonia surged sevenfold, reaching 1,690 tons valued at $2.45 million compared to the previous year.
In addition, Azerbaijan expanded into new markets for the first time in 14 years of available trade statistics. Lubricants were shipped to Panama (45 tons worth $68,000) and Venezuela (189 tons valued at $182,000).
