Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia discuss cooperation
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Saudi Ambassador to Baku Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair discussed Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia relations.
The meeting was held on August 17 on the occasion of the end of the ambassador’s diplomatic activity in the country, Caliber.Az reports.
Minister Bayramov expressed deep gratitude to the ambassador for his contribution to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia and wished him success in his future endeavours.
In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, energy, humanitarian, tourism spheres, cooperation within international organisations, including the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.
It was noted at the meeting that political ties between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia are at a high level, successes in the development of trade and economic ties were underlined. The support provided by Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan both during almost 30 years of occupation and in the post-conflict period was highly appreciated.
The ambassador spoke about the development of ties between the two countries and the recent works carried out in this direction. He expressed gratitude for the friendly attitude shown to him during his work in Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest.
On August 1, Saudi Arabia appointed Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili as the new ambassador to Azerbaijan.
