Azerbaijan seeks to increase tourist arrivals from Middle East
Azerbaijan is holding talks with airlines and travel agencies across the Middle East as part of efforts to increase tourist arrivals from the region, Rashad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, has stated.
Speaking at a meeting of the SKAL Club and leaders of Azerbaijan's tourism industry, he said the agency is implementing short-term measures to reduce the impact of geopolitical developments on the tourism sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"We are holding regular meetings with airlines and tourism companies from Middle Eastern countries. We are facilitating their cooperation with representatives of the local tourism industry so that, through support measures from both the state and the private sector, losses in this market can be minimized," he noted.
According to him, in parallel, work is underway on a government program aimed at increasing tourist flows from Middle Eastern countries.
"The program covers more long-term solutions, and preparations for implementing the measures planned for 2026 have already begun," Rashad Aliyev added.
