Azerbaijani, Serbian diplomats hold political consultations in Belgrade
On October 15, political consultations took place in Belgrade, Serbia, between the officials of the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Serbia.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damjan Jovic, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the meeting, the strengthening of strategic partnerships between the two countries was discussed, along with the current state and prospects for cooperation in political, economic, energy, and humanitarian spheres, as well as within international organizations. The discussions also covered strategic energy and transportation projects being implemented by Azerbaijan.
The 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which Azerbaijan will host in November this year, will open new opportunities for enhancing existing strategic cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, regional and international issues of mutual interest were addressed.
Rzayev informed the Serbian side about the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, including Azerbaijan's steps toward establishing lasting peace, the mine threat in the liberated territories, and ongoing reconstruction efforts there.
During his visit, Rzayev also met with other Serbian officials and participated in roundtable discussions with researchers and experts.
