Azerbaijan successfully counters DDOS, other cyber attacks
The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security's Center for Combating Computer Incidents constantly monitors cyber attacks against our country and does so around the clock.
The head of the centre, Tural Mammadov, made the remarks in an interview with ITV, Report informs.
"Whether in the active phase of the war or in our daily activities, the Service keeps such cyber-attack preparations under control through various international collaboration with foreign intelligence services or CERT centres, or with the assistance of cyber intelligence solutions, and in the event of a threat, informs the relevant institutions, critical infrastructure facilities, and citizens. In collaboration with the State Security Service, the Digital Development and Transport Ministry, and backbone providers, we coordinate various levels of measures to prevent cyber attacks, sometimes at the national level, sometimes outside the country," he stated.
According to the state official, DDOS and other types of cyber attacks on state institutions, banks, news sites, universities and some providers of Azerbaijan have been successfully prevented since August 4.
"The measures taken by the Civil Service will ensure the smooth and safe operation of state institutions... Currently, incoming DDOS attacks with the number of requests of 10 million per second in the volume of 40G are being prevented," Mammadov added.
