Azerbaijan, Tatarstan discuss strengthening energy cooperation
The Azerbaijani Energy Ministry has announced that Azerbaijan and Russia's Republic of Tatarstan held talks on energy cooperation.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and a delegation led by Tatarstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The sides reviewed the current cooperation between energy companies from Azerbaijan and Tatarstan and discussed potential areas for further collaboration. Specific topics included the oil and petrochemical sectors, the exchange of expertise, human capital development, as well as the implementation of new technologies in energy, digitalisation of energy facilities, automation of distribution networks and equipment production.
During the meeting, the sides noted that this visit and the discussions would contribute to the development of bilateral relations, particularly in energy cooperation, and mutual support for a beneficial partnership. In conclusion, the Azerbaijani side was invited to participate in the Tatarstan International Forum on Energy and Energy Efficiency, which will take place in Kazan, Russia this April.
Earlier, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov discussed economic cooperation with Korobchenko.
“During our meeting with Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, we exchanged views on priority areas of economic cooperation, discussing partnerships in trade, industry, entrepreneurship, innovation, and other sectors. We also explored prospects for joint initiatives and reviewed projects implemented in industrial parks,” Jabbarov wrote on X.
Azerbaijan and Tatarstan have been actively enhancing their economic cooperation across various sectors.
