Azerbaijan to develop city plan for Khojaly after studying situation on the ground
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Ilgar Isbatov has said that after analyzing and studying the current situation in Khojaly, a city plan will be prepared.
He made the remarks at the 2nd Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum in Baku, Report informs.
According to Isbatov, the committee will send a corresponding group to Khojaly to conduct an initial review and assessment.
“Preparatory work is currently underway. Of course, as in other cities, first of all it is necessary to study the current situation. Then you can begin work on preparing a city plan,” added the deputy chairman.
Khojaly is a city in Garabagh, which is mainly associated by the Armenian massacre against innocent civilians on February 26, 1992.
Azerbaijan regained the control of the city following the anti-terrorist measures against the separatist junta regime in Garabagh on September 19-20, after 31 years of occupation.
Azerbaijan is hosting the 2nd Azerbaijan National Urban Forum organized by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) as part of the Azerbaijan Urban Week.
On September 29, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev adrressed the oppening ceremony of the forum held in Zangilan.
