Azerbaijan to export gas to 12 European countries, strengthening energy security partnership
Azerbaijan has been strengthening its position in the global economy in recent years, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stated during a plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
In his remarks at the discussion of the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,” Jabbarov emphasized that Azerbaijan has become a reliable partner in ensuring energy security, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The minister further noted that Azerbaijani gas would soon be exported to 12 countries in Europe, highlighting the country's growing role as a key energy supplier.
Azerbaijan is already recognized as a strategic energy partner for the European Union. The Southern Gas Corridor, a crucial initiative to transport gas from the Caspian Sea to European markets, has become a vital instrument for enhancing Europe’s energy security. With the completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, the final part of the Southern Gas Corridor, this initiative is poised to play an even more significant role in the future.
In addition to its energy achievements, Minister Jabbarov also provided an update on Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to bolster its economy. He announced the preparation and submission of a new draft law titled "On Management and Privatization of State Property" to the relevant state authorities.
This law is part of broader efforts to increase private investments, continue the privatization process, and further expand Azerbaijan's export potential. These initiatives are expected to contribute to the continued economic growth of the country, reinforcing its position in the global marketplace.
