Azerbaijan, Ukraine explore new energy partnership at Kyiv round table

A round table titled "Azerbaijan–Ukraine: New partnership opportunities in the construction of hydro-accumulating power plants and the effective development of renewable energy" was held in Kyiv in a hybrid format, bringing together key stakeholders from both countries’ energy sectors.

The event was organised by the Azerbaijan-Ukrainian Energy Association and featured participation from high-level officials, including Ukrainian Deputy Energy Minister Mykol, diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, representatives of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian energy companies, and industry experts from both nations, Ukrianian ambassador to Baku Yuriy Husyev wrote on Facebook, Caliber.Az reports.

In his opening remarks, Kolisnyk highlighted the strategic importance of deepening cooperation in the energy sector, underlining that energy collaboration remains a top priority in the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani partnership.

He noted that this commitment is consistently reflected in high-level discussions between the presidents of both countries and within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation.

Participants discussed new opportunities for collaboration in the construction of hydro-accumulative power plants (GAES) and the expansion of renewable energy projects. Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing a sustainable and mutually beneficial energy partnership, particularly in the field of “green” energy.

The Ukrainian delegation expressed sincere gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support in helping maintain Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which continues to face significant challenges due to ongoing Russian attacks.
