Azerbaijan warns revanchist forces in Armenia
Head of the Azerbaijani State Security Service, Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, has warned revanchist forces in Armenia.
Naghiyev made the remarks at a solemn event dedicated to the cadets who graduated from the State Security Service Academy named after Heydar Aliyev, Caliber.Az informs.
He noted that when complex geopolitical processes are underway in the world, threats to the national security of countries are growing, stability and tranquillity are reliably ensured in Azerbaijan.
The head of the State Security Service stressed that vigilance is constantly observed in this sphere, and the ongoing events in the region are carefully monitored from the point of view of their impact on the country's security.
Naghiyev noted that in response to the decisive steps taken by Azerbaijan after the victory in the second Karabakh war to normalise relations with Armenia, to the president’s messages for establishing peace, the destructive position of the Armenian side, unfounded claims and statements that undermine the negotiating spirit are regrettable and are assessed as a factor capable of influencing the future security of the region.
“As the Azerbaijani president noted, Armenia's revanchist attempts will be suppressed,” he noted.
