Azerbaijan, Russia pledge to strengthen political, economic ties
As part of a working visit to Moscow, Khalaf Khalafov, the Azerbaijani President's Representative on Special Assignments, met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin to discuss the deepening of political dialogue and the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting underscored the mutual interest in further enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in line with the Declaration on Allied Cooperation, which was signed by the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan on February 22, 2022, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The discussions focused on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on expanding political dialogue and boosting trade and economic collaboration. Both sides also highlighted the importance of Russian cultural, humanitarian, and informational presence in Azerbaijan, noting that these elements play a key role in fostering closer ties between the two nations.
A significant portion of the conversation also centered around ensuring stability and security in the South Caucasus and the Caspian Sea region, areas of mutual concern for both Moscow and Baku.
The sides expressed their commitment to working jointly in these regions to maintain peace and security.
The meeting is seen as an important step in further solidifying the strategic relationship between Russia and Azerbaijan, as both countries continue to strengthen their cooperation in multiple domains.
