German official applauds Azerbaijan's climate commitment at ADA Forum PHOTO
Federal Managing Director of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade Urs Unkauf has praised Azerbaijan for its significant role in addressing climate change.
During a panel session entitled "New World Order: Expectations from Economic Transformation and the Digital Revolution," Unkauf pointed out at the VII ADA Political Forum that the organization of COP29 in Azerbaijan last November highlighted the country’s dedication to climate issues, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Unkauf emphasised the importance of Azerbaijan's climate-focused initiatives, stating, “The organization of COP29 last November in Azerbaijan demonstrates that your country places great importance on climate issues.”
His remarks came amidst a broader conversation on the evolving global landscape and the expectations for economic transformation and digital innovation.
Unkauf further noted the strong and vital partnership between Germany and Azerbaijan, particularly in the context of the ongoing geopolitical and geostrategic shifts worldwide.
“I believe that the conference held in Khankendi will provide a platform for building wide-ranging cooperation between participating countries,” he remarked, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in today’s changing global order.
The session also highlighted the growing need for international cooperation in addressing both economic and environmental challenges. In closing, Unkauf stated that the expansion of cooperation between countries is critical in the face of global uncertainties and changing geopolitical dynamics.
The first day of the VII ADA Political Forum, titled "Towards a New World Order," has been held in Khankendi.
The event was organised jointly by ADA University and the Azerbaijani Centre of Analysis of International Relations.
Over 80 international experts and think tank representatives from 44 countries participated in the forum.
Discussions at the forum continued with a focus on global energy security, regional trade, the digital economy, and natural resource management within the context of the evolving world order.
