Azerbaijani ambassador exposes Armenian lies in Belgian parliament
The Foreign Relations Committee of the Belgian Parliament has held hearings on a draft resolution concerning Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, which was marked by a biased approach.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgium Vagif Sadigov addressed the committee members, providing clarifications on numerous issues based on the Armenian perspective that do not reflect the current realities in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The discussions touched on several important topics, including the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return to their historical lands, Armenia's policy of total destruction in the formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the landmine problem, and the fate of missing persons.
Sadigov particularly emphasized that, despite Armenia’s acknowledgment of the current regional realities since 2020, some parliamentary institutions in European countries continue to present the situation differently, which negatively affects the sensitive process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The ambassador expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness for constructive dialogue on all issues of interest to the parliamentarians.
He also voiced hope for a reconsideration of the mentioned draft resolution, which does not contribute to the cause of lasting peace and the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
