Baku, Tehran discuss development of inter-parliamentary cooperation
A meeting between the heads of the working groups on inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Iran took place in Baku.
During the visit of the Iranian delegation to Azerbaijan, Ziyafet Askarov, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament) and head of the working group on inter-parliamentary relations with Iran, held talks with head of the Iran-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, Sudayf Badri, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The meeting highlighted the dynamic development of relations between the two countries, particularly in the cultural and economic sectors. Askerov stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in trade and logistics.
For his part, Bedri expressed confidence that reciprocal visits would strengthen not only diplomatic ties but also parliamentary relations, affirming his commitment to the principles of friendship and mutual respect in the development of bilateral relations.
The two sides also discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.
