The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry have forwarded a message of condolences to the government and the citizens of the Dominican Republic following the fatal collapse of a roof structure in the capital city that killed over 100 people.

"We express heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the Dominican Republic over the collapse of the building that resulted in dozens of victims and injuries in Santo Domingo. We wish for a speedy recovery to all those injured in this tragic event," the MFA message reads.
Notably, at least 98 people were killed and 160 injured when the roof of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, collapsed during a merengue concert on April 8. The incident occurred at the one-story venue, which was filled with politicians, athletes, and attendees.
Rescue teams have been working tirelessly through the rubble for over 12 hours, focusing on three key areas where faint cries for help were heard. Among the victims was Nelsy Cruz, governor of Montecristi province and sister of MLB star Nelson Cruz.
Merengue singer Rubby Pérez was also injured, with rescue efforts ongoing. Families of the victims gathered at the National Institute of Forensic Pathology for identification.
