Azerbaijan, World Bank strengthen economic growth through digital transformation
Azerbaijan has discussed innovative models of economic growth with the World Bank through the application of digital transformation.
Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev wrote on his social media page X that discussions took place during a meeting with Asad Alam, the World Bank’s Regional Director for Development in Europe and Central Asia, and prominent economist Ufuk Akçiğit, Caliber.Az reports.

The parties also exchanged views on developing Azerbaijan’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as enhancing efficiency across public institutions and the private sector.
On October 30, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov also met with Asad Alam to review priorities for inclusion in the country’s draft 2027–2030 Social and Economic Development Strategy.
The discussions focused on improving the business environment, fostering sustainable and inclusive growth, and promoting private-sector advancement through international best practices.
Jabbarov noted that particular emphasis was placed on strengthening employment opportunities and adapting research-based approaches to stimulate entrepreneurship, underscoring the World Bank’s continued role as a key partner in Azerbaijan’s long-term development agenda.
