Azerbaijan’s economy minister confers with World Bank delegation on growth strategy PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikail Jabbarov, met with Asad Alam, the World Bank’s Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia on Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions, to discuss strategies for the country’s economic development.
Sharing details of the meeting on X, Minister Jabbarov said, “We were pleased to receive the delegation led by Asad Alam, World Bank Regional Director for Prosperity in the Europe and Central Asia Region."
According to Jabbarov, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the priorities envisioned for inclusion in the draft 2027–2030 Social and Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He highlighted that the discussions focused on improving the business environment, fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth, and enhancing employment opportunities.
“Particular attention was given to enhancing the business environment, promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth, and strengthening employment opportunities,” Jabbarov added.
The minister also noted that the meeting included a review of international best practices in entrepreneurship development.
“We considered ways to adapt research-based approaches aimed at stimulating private sector advancement in Azerbaijan,” he said.
