Azerbaijani, Cuban diplomats discuss multilateral cooperation in Havana PHOTO
The delegation led by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev has visited Havana, Cuba.
During the visit, Rzayev held meetings with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ana Teresita Gonzales Fraga, Caliber.Az reports.
The meetings discussed cooperation in multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the G-77, as well as possible partnerships between the two countries in promoting international development.
As part of the visit, a presentation was held on June 16 for the ambassadors of Caribbean island states accredited to Cuba. The presentation was devoted to the theme of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and its policy to promote international development.
The Azerbaijani delegation informed the participants about the global call to support the post-pandemic recovery of small island states announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the summit of the contact group of the Non-Aligned Movement on COVID-19, held on March 2 in Baku.
It was noted that as part of this appeal, Azerbaijan has allocated aid to these states in the amount of $1 million. The event continued with interactive discussions.
