Azerbaijani defence official accuses Armenia of war crimes against civilians
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Defence Minister Agil Gurbanov has accused Armenia of committing war crimes over the past 30 years.
He made the relevant remarks at a high-level seminar in Baku on international military operations, Caliber.Az reports.
Gurbanov highlighted that civilians, including children, schools, and kindergartens, were targeted by Armenian forces.
He also emphasized Armenia’s refusal to provide information about 4,000 missing Azerbaijanis, further stating that Armenia has continuously violated international laws during the conflict.
Gurbanov addressed the ongoing mine threat in the region, revealing that since the signing of the Tripartite Joint Statement on November 10, 2020, 379 people have fallen victim to mine explosions.
Over 156,000 unexploded ordnances have been found in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation, with Gurbanov noting that the mine maps provided by Armenia have been inaccurate and unreliable.
