Azerbaijani delegation exploring innovations at InnoTrans Exhibition in Germany
Azerbaijan's delegation, led by Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) company Rovshan Rustamov, is participating in the InnoTrans international exhibition in Germany’s capital Berlin.
InnoTrans, which is held every two years, attracts over 100,000 participants and is one of the biggest international exhibitions covering public transport, railway vehicles and equipment, Caliber.Az reports via ADY.
Key themes of InnoTrans 2024 include digitalisation in the transport sector, sustainable development, and AI-driven digital solutions. The exhibition features 2,940 companies from 59 countries, as well as 32 international organisations.
"The purpose of Azerbaijan Railways company' participation in the exhibition is to view the latest innovative products and digital solutions from leading transport companies worldwide, as well as to engage in discussions with representatives from foreign railway administrations," ADY stated.
Rustamov has already met with delegations from the leading UAE Etihad Rail railway company and Ukrainian Railways.
"During these meetings, we had effective exchanges regarding cooperation prospects and freight transport, including transit options. We also highlighted the recent steps taken by ADY to diversify routes along international corridors, specifically the development of the Middle Corridor," ADY noted.
The world’s biggest transport technology exhibition, InnoTrans, is being held at the Berlin ExpoCentre from September 24 to 27, 2024. Industry leaders and researchers are showcasing the latest advancements in railway technologies.
The German Aerospace Centre will present its futuristic NGT-Taxi concept. This lightweight, modular, high-tech rail bus, based on an autonomous control system, aims to enhance connectivity with rural areas. The 14th InnoTrans exhibition, featuring nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 39 countries, has set a new record for participation.
The international transport exhibition was inaugurated by Germany's Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing alongside Director-General for Mobility and Transport within the European Commission Magda Kopczyńska.
