Azerbaijani embassy attack in Iran "pre-planned" - Turkish general

Turkish retired general Yucel Karauz has described the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran as a pre-planned event on January 27.

He made the statement while commenting on the attack on January 27, Report informs.

"Not everyone can get a gun and kill an employee of an embassy. I believe this is a pre-planned event," he said.

According to the general, the Iranian government bears responsibility for this incident.

"It’s the most important duty for a country to protect the diplomatic corps of another country. Taking into account the current situation in Iran-Azerbaijani relations, the occurrence of such an event cannot be regarded as an ordinary event while this protection needs to be further strengthened," Karauz said.
