Azerbaijani FM briefs US Assistant Secretary of State about Armenia's provocations PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and US Assistant Secretary of State for International Organisations Michelle Sison met in Qatar on March 6.
Bayramov, who is on a working visit to Qatar to attend the fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries, and Sison exchanged views on the regional situation, bilateral ties, and issues of cooperation on multilateral platforms, Caliber.Az reports.
He noted at the meeting that Azerbaijan plays an active role in a number of international organisations, currently chairs the Non-Aligned Movement [NAM] and the Economic Cooperation Organisation, and takes large-scale initiatives. He briefed the senior US official about the results of the NAM summit held on March 2 in Baku. The minister also informed Michelle Sison in detail about the programs of assistance and scholarships to less developed countries.
In addition, Bayramov reported on the current post-conflict situation in the region, Azerbaijan's peace agenda, reconstruction and construction carried out on its liberated territories, as well as the continuing mine threat. It was noted that despite Azerbaijan's peacekeeping efforts, Armenia continues its provocations.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
