Azerbaijani parliament approves air traffic agreement between Azerbaijan, Israel
Azerbaijani parliament has approved air traffic agreement between Azerbaijan and Israel.
The draft was submitted for discussion at the parliamentary session on October 11, Report informs.
Under the agreement, the passengers who go directly to transit on the territory of one state, without leaving the airport area allocated for these purposes, will undergo simplified control, with the exception of security measures regarding baggage and air cargo. The Parties will also provide each other with all necessary assistance on the basis of a request to prevent any other threat to the security of civil aviation.
The document notes that the agreement signed on June 30, 2022 in Tel Aviv to establish air communication between Azerbaijan and Israel, consists of 25 articles and additions.
The provisions of the agreement are also subject to the provisions of the Chicago Convention applicable to international air services. In accordance with the agreement, the parties have the right to appoint in writing one or more airline companies to perform the agreed services on the established routes.
After the discussions, MPs voted for the adoption of the document.
